Our hand-dyed yarn skeins are works of art, even before you turn them into something beautiful. Each skein has been dyed using natural botanical dyes such as onion skins, birch leaves and butterfly pea flowers. Days of careful foraging, dying and drying go into the making of them, and there are only certain times of the year when we produce them.

The colour ‘Harvest’ was created using a dye derived from the leaves of birch trees. You’ll be amazed at how beautifully it pairs with any of our other naturally dyed yarns!

Although all skeins of a given colour were dyed with the same type of material, each skein will be one-of-a-kind due to the dye process.

We used fingering weight (also called Sock Weight or 4-Ply) for this yarn. It is a 75% Wool 25% Nylon blend which is fairly rustic. It is designed to be tough enough for socks but pleasing enough for scarves, shawls and other accessories.

We have done everything in our power to ensure colourfastness, but there is still a chance of occasional ‘bleeding’ in some colours which is normal. We encourage you to take care and hand wash articles which you create using these skeins.

Note that botanically dyed fibres will fade over time, but it will take many wearings/launderings to be noticeable. Botanically dyed shades tend to fade in a very natural way and still look great the entire time.
